you have to rent them nowadays boc gas or similar place

I doubt it - they've been hire for quite a few years - don't know if they'd even fill one that's owned even if the owner was able to get it certified.
Overseas you can buy disposable CO2, Argon, etc, cartridges - like the camping stove gas ones. May be an option and, if so, I'd be interested in knowing.
Personally, See it as bit of a racket - even if you're using the MIG/TIG for small home jobs, you're still being screwed for monthly hire charges - IMO, it should just be a deposit on the bottle!

yeh, u can still get them filled in auks from a place i cnt remember the name of, the disposable ones are 60 bux if u search on trademe but appaerently they dnt last too long and u need a "mini reg" which is 100 bux, u cnt use the old skool big ones :/
