Failing that, check out the sealed 12V batteries available - you won't have to worry about spillage or whatever, either.

What are they used for/where would i buy one?
I know you you can get sealed motorcycle batteries. Dry cell would be optimal but they cost like $150 and up

I can't remember where you're based? Any battery company should be able to supply you with what you need, HCB Technologies is the company I've used in the past - yellow.co.nz/search/new+zealand/HCB-1.htmlYuasa also make them. Give some thought to what you want, some are available with carry packs, which may be useful, also some use blade terminals, which is much easier than bolts or screws for connecting/disconnecting. just need a low charging rate for them.

yup got one today from century/yuasa
same specs as what you be talkin
I think they are made for house alarms and other stuff like that
If anybody has something else id be keen as i think from memory my spotlight will drain a bat like this in about 45mins to an hour. So having two would be ideal

As a rough guide, a 55W QH spotting light will drain a 5 A-h battery in around an hour. Depending how much light you need, you may consider using a smaller, incandescent light, like a brake or tail light - that'll give around 2 1/2 hours for a 21W and perhaps 10 hours for a 5W - may be easier on the eyes as well.

I know this is going off track slightly... but there are some really good LED lights out there at the moment that draw bugger all current and therefore either allow you to carry a small battery for the same time or let you use a larger one for longer
