small issue with my lunchtime drive. i was changing down from 3rd to 2nd and had nothing. nothing in 1st either. the odd thing was there was no bangs chrunches ar any previous sign of an issue. second syncro was never really that bad. could it be easier to bang another in or dig into it and fix. was a 5 speed, reckon a 4 or another 5?

Usually when it's two gears in the same plane, it's a problem with the selector fork - it may be broken of the pin may be missing. If you can remove the cover, it should be obvious if that's the problem.

Witht he cover off, put the gear lever back in and try working it through the gears - should be fairly obvious where the problem lies. I assume you can still get reverse?

monsier moosh, I am pulling down a4spd for ring gears etc and scrap, and to learn a lil... anyway if the part you need is universal to 4spd (lower grar syncho's for instance are supposedly the same) lemme know and you can have it... Otherwise have whole 5spd boxes for sale from $75 unknown condition.
