I brought this over with me from blighty. Its brand new from TJ motorsport. 2.5 turns lock to lock. I had one on the rotorvette in the UK and its a fantastic mod! Cost me £125. I thought I might be able to fit a chevette rack into my HB Viva but chevette rack too wide!
So the kit is up for grabs. Not advertised anywhere else yet- thought I'd put up for you chevette nutters first.
I want $300- that's a fair price I think. Would cost more to ship one in with freight and customs. The money will go straight into a HB rack that Tim has in stock (Viva racks cost £150 dammit!)which I'm hoping to go halfs with 3 others in NZ to drop the price down on freight.
BTW - You need to grind out the slot that the bolt locates in on the pinion shaft slightly bigger to fit a standard chevette universal which is easy enough to do - unless you get the big hefty rally universal.
alex (will one day own another chevette!)

Any idea if it comes close to fitting in a Gemini?

Not sure eh- I'm guessing they have a Jap built rack?
This one suits the later chevette racks- the one you adjust the backlash on pinion with shims- Cam gears I think. from roughly 1980 on- at least in the UK.

I imagine a Chevette rack just bolts straight into a Gem?

Do you still have the chevette rack? Flat mate might be keen on it for his 1200 instead of nutsting box setup..

Yeah its still up for grabs- I can bring it down to chch this weekend. Remember its the rack and pinion so he'll need an old rack to swap in over to.

def wouldnt fit a gem rack totaly different unit. but as I think jesse was getting at perhaps a vette rack could be installed in a gem... same mounting to x member.... but steering column joint/spline etc probably very different. If I wasn't up to eyeballs with car moneys flying here and there I would get it seeing as I am soon to have 4 chevettes... but meh will put up with standard million turns lock to lock
