Tt will be bloody fun. Geminis go ok and the lack of anything in a Chevette makes them quite a bit lighter than Geminis, regardless of the motor, so a tuned up 1600 in one should actually make for quite a nippy wee thing.

yeh the old pf50 was quite nippy. I heard they have higher comp ratio than the latter model holdens. 60kw as opposed to 50
sumnuts to do with the changeover to unleaded gasoline

bit of an update fullahs. been working hard last couple weeks. had engine in and out couple times. checking what ends up where etc. chopping springs too for laughs more than anything. got some cobra rears on the way + munroe short shocks. got some kyb's for the front. nice & low engine in. bit tight with the intake manifold. also rocker cover fouling accelerator linkage. plenty of clearance for radiator. can push back further though with room to spare for electric fan. weber mounted up issues??? sway bar fouling sump shifter hole will get the old chop chop gearbox x-member (insert here) lol possible to bolt tranny to seat stiffener thingy? its on an angle tho but could get something else made to bolt in and around transmission. then reinforce again further down using chevette gearbox x-member bolt holes.

Where are the vette gbox mounts by comparison to the bolt holes on the gbox? Could show you the gbox mount jase made for my wagon (it used to be his) if I can find it... mounts to seat mounts as you mentioned... 'Good stuff too btw... cool when Mrs Funt'maRunts do stuff... inspires me to do stuff and stop beiung such a slack Mrs Funt'maRunt! Too busy playing xbox and watching tv blobbing in general... gotta cut this nuts out!

cheers fellas. yeah xbox=bad bro. go psp then you can at least get outside & nuts. lol. shove-it x-member bolt holes miles away eh. seat mount holes will be the go i reckon. will have something made up a bit more sturdy like that comes across trans tunnel level. gearbox can then bolt straight onto that. then maybe reinforce again using stock x-member bolt holes with another x-member etc. where does piazza diff end up in relation to gem one? just wondering if gem drive shaft is gonna fit in there. got a piazza diff sussed so would like to get some rear disc brakes happening if possible.

Use a gemini sway bar, bolts straight up, will solve your issues there..
Im plating my floorpan in my g200w chevette, instead of trying to use the seat bracket thingy or original chevette mounts..

They are a little bit taller, but other than that I wold image that it will be a straight swap once you've got the 161 in there.

I've got a fine spline gemini driveshaft - which is still to long for my setup, the piazza's is about 30mm longer again...
Yea a mate & I are doing all the work so far
