stripd the gem after work today- manifold, ecu, wiring... am taking the carby mani to work to clean it up tomorrow, will need a few bits and pieces to.
burntrubber- how much of an issue is that mag reluctor dizzy going to be? i hadnt given it a second thought untill now..
and fyi- taking an injected manifold off with engine in the car is annoyingly dificult because of the extra long studs haha.

Dizzy should be fine has a built in igniter dosent it?? just wire it to the coil which it should be already . I hope the carbs work for you would suck if you stuck em on and it did the same thing. Did you ever end up checking the ignition advance and the cam timming?

its just different advance to the 161 (2 vacumes?), and has a plug haha. havnt lookd at it very hard, last night was strip time so no thinking required.
never checkd the cam timing, might while the manifolds off.. if it doesnt work, im holding you responsible- for jynxing me haha

Hrm not sure on the dizzy thing now I think about it efi cars usually have a way differant advance curve than carbi engines. Might be best to chuck a 161 dizzy in if ya got one.

the g-mini is all legal. still running rough tho- i think the primary is a bit blocked because it idols lean and misses, but when she hits the secondarys it gos like a rocket. still, im stoooked

ok boys new symptoms-
its running lean, you can hear at the zorst its missing and spluttering all the time. it stalls all the time. the revs just drop off, even if i just hold the clutch in. sometimes if im gentle enough i can get it to idol but only if it crankd rite up. once it hits higher rpm (i dont know how high because my tachos broken) it seems to go all good. no missing and nice smooth acceleration.
i chuckd a new carby on it today- no diference. i got troy to sort my timing and now- set dead on- it seems to run worse haha.
does this sound like a possable cam timing issue? its just weird that the injection was rich but this is lean..

Probably blocked primary fuel circuit not sure how the nickiy works but on webers the idle circuit runs off the primary main jet so if its dirty you get nuts idle and poor low RPM performance but better up higher if the secodary side is clean sounds like what you got! If the carb was sitting its really a 50/50 chance it will be ok without cleaning.
