main was the cut springs, had a broken rim (really not that bad) and the night before i got pulled up i had gotten backed into and it had smashed up the back tail light so that was his 3rd reason..along with a $350 fine haha pretty stupid really but owell

cops just doing there job really, that kid in ngahinapouri bought it due to a guy cutting his springs and welding his diff, a cert is really the best option then if something horrible does happen at least you will have a clear conscience and the cotton wool brigade can't blah on that he had cutties and was a boy racer, sad thing is the fine you got would have paid for one and rather than when the cert system came in and the cops would have waived the ticket if you turned up two weeks later with your cert unlike todays quota revenue collection system, not really a big fan of your signwriting but the whole concept is growing on me, if i rolled a flatpeak and threw hand signals out the window i'd be all over this

Back in the day when you got fines they were always compliance fines, meaning that if you get the car up to warrantable standard - got a cert etc, then you could write away and get off the fine because you have fixed the car.
In todays revenue collecting system there is no getting off the fines, so you can't put that $350 towards getting a cert, which for ~$400 is some serious money considering you need to cert small things like wheels and seats and then you need to recert for any mods in the future.

Side note/partly of interist..
When I was talking to wof, while my car was getting its wof, he said for simpler things such as my widened wheels, he said so long as I can provide suitable documentation (ie qualified/legitimate wheel place/engineer) the first time I go for my wof (with them on) , it gets noted down, bung into the system and then I dont have to provide documentation for each wof, and is legal..
