bought me another wagon...thort it was a te as i got it sight unseen (again) from hamilton via trade-me.
Went and collected it yesterday (sunday) loaded it in a hurry drove back to aucks, unloaded, took back trailer, took daughter to playdate, dropped back tow car, and finaly got to check out my new purchase and within about 30seconds i realised it was a barry whiting chevette!! 10% bummed but was still a steal @ $600. dereg, panelled bodywork straight as, primed with all the glass popped out, interior incl inside doors, boot lid, underside of bonnet, and engine bay painted in 'cinnabar' a commodore color from vt onwards. Its kinda like a rusty red/orange metalic very nice.
It also has a g180 with a 5speed box.
Not sure if it has a gem or a vette diff but the driveshaft is installed so doesnt matter either way.
Havnt located any rust, floorpan seems good as does firewall but there is a patch about 350x500mm spot welded under gastank which will need to be seen to.
Will get sum pics taken soon...
Just weighing up options.
It currently has tf-g guards and bonnet all nicely paneled and primed on it, thinking of maybe tracking down another tc-d guards and bonnet and welding on the nosecut from my parts wreck... so prozac if you are reading this i will be holding onto my mint guard portion until i make my mind up... u shud have got back to me with your address sooner!! will try make decision in next few weeks.
Another option is tracking down a nosecut from a vette... so jaygti if you are reading this i will be holding onto my bonnet until a decision is made!! sorry guys!! wasnt expecting this... i thought i had bought a gemini!!
Anyhow 3rd option is keeping as is but that isnt likely, it has half a hacked up chevette radiator panel so no latching for bonnet gemini or chevette or mountings for radiator... o well like doing things the hard way!! crazycrazycrazytim!!!
