does your car share doors with the hatch/wagon? thinking of putting gem sedan back on my hatch... 2 door car, hatch, van and wagon have the same doors. Some may have trim around the windows, though - don't know if it makes any real difference.

The gem coupes are different tho? apparently so. I remember zep saying the coupes have a steeper rake on the a pillar that is shared with none of the other t-cars.

Oops, my comment was for the Chevettes - no idea about the other "T" cars...

The coupe windscreens are more laid back than the other cars. I couldn't tell you if wagon and hatch doors are the same tho, might be.

I rekcon that this 2-door needs the kadett front treatment. Tell Gaz to save $3500 and buy you a carbon fibre bonnet/guards/etc from Germany!

Is that right... have to admit they look pretty sweet.. Theres a couple here that i love, the blue 2 door esp. nzgem.proboards51.com/index.cgi?board=membcar&action=display&thread=244. That would definitely break the bank tho. I think my engines about to die so gotta sort what's gunna go in next. Any suggestions? I want reliability so first thoughts were a rotary... hehe not. Widened steelies are currently being bid on trademe... cant be arrrrsed with the mesh and changing studs etc, so will see how that goes..

methodz100 Is Gaz/His Missus As for engines I'd just pick up another 1256, when they're running they run sweet, simple to work on, cheap on gas, and cheap as chips for parts. Failing that the next best thing would be a G161z or G200z (Gemini and Rodeo/Piazza motors respectively) but then you may as well put a complete gemini/piazza drivetrain in.. They would be the closest thing to a "bolt in" you could find so would be minimal hassle compared to a later model motor out of a jappa.. Main things you'd Need to change: Gemini Engine Mounts, fabricate G/box cross member, and modify the Torque tube mount (Either on torque tube or the floorpan mount), Diff Shock & sway bar mounts. Also I think radiator has to be changed, which means chopping the radiator panel up, which means losing the bonnet release... Anyone else feel free to correct me.. There should be a couple of guys on here with g161z's and a 4 or 5spd box under their house... Failing that if you get really desperate I know of a g161z - but its auto, and still in the car, but atleast it'd give you a diff and engine - In south island though...

and modify the Torque tube mount (Either on torque tube or the floorpan mount), Actually I found that the Gem torque tube bolted straight up to the mounts on my Chevette, I just needed to relieve one of the tube mounting holes as it wasn't round and needed a little grinding out to get the bolt through.

Hmm thats strange indeed,
When I went to put a TG Wagon Diff into a Early Chevette Hatch, the holes were a good 20mm away both sides...
Maybe its because yours is from an Early Gemini, or maybe the fact that its a Sedan??
Interisting indeed

love the look of this only seen one the same in person but it was plowed, should look sweet on those steels if you get them, datsun a15 donk would be a good little conversion, could just about pass it off as a 1256 if it weren't for the alloy head etc, but has options for a five speed and sidie manifolds and performance parts, cheers jase
