For anyone who has done a diff conversion on a gemini, what kind of driveshaft have you used? Burnt rubber is using a telescopic commy one, and I was thinking of going the same way...
Any ideas.. west?

Never seen the telescopic ones, but guess thatd be sweet. Mines custom with a heavy wall 75mm dia tube to fit in my tight ass tunnel with S4 front yoke and hilux rear. If you dont wanna use the commy one get a custom or even a hilux one then you only need to shorten and change one end??

Thats quite a small diameter ay. This is a question you shouldn't ever ask a guy, but why is your tunnel so tight? (seriously )

Haha! The hilux one I have is a 2 piece, I was thinking of using it but wasn't sure how to mount it then. Two piece is probably a good idea tho.

One piece would be better for that ladder bar setup I think because the ladder bar uses the original torque tube mounts. A two piece needs a mounting point for the center bearing I used the torque tube crossmember and mounting point for mine.

Hrm, I was talking to Matt about the diff angle, apparantly when you lower the car the diff angles up more or something so a two peice is good... i dunno aye. If one piece does the trick, then should probably go with that!

Yip I'd go for a single if it works I can sort that for you if ya want I got a couple of old single shafts I could modify. You allready have the gearbox yoke and pinion flange.
The diff angle can be adjusted by were you mount the trailing arms/ladder bar and also haveing those arms adjustable make's for even more adjustment.

(seriously ) Just coz my cars sitting on its ass, and the hilux diff is right up in the tunnel and also has a bit of angle on it, was told that the angle of the motor and gearbox should be approx the same as the diff. I have a djustments on my ladder bar to help but yea its just tight ay bro, plus my gearbox sits up as high as I could get it

Coz mine doesnt use the original torque tube mounts, theres a x-member welded in there. Im guessin it your one ay??

Um ok well the Mcdonalds Brothers one does thats what I'm talking about. Just assumed that any simular desine would use it also. But after looking at some of the pictures more you could probably still fit a two piece in there useing the original bolt holes.
