Looking good, Danny, going to confuse a lot of people with that plug cover - make sure they stay confused, hehe. Seems to vbe a good fit in the engine bay - how does it look for routing the exhaust around the steering gear - Iif I recall correctly, you're using an internal pedal box, etc?
As an aside, I believe an old mate, Ian Attwood, from the Northland Car Club in Whangarei is also using the same power plant - in his case it's in a nice rally Mk2 Escort (when I last saw it it was still running a BDG 2 litre).

Looks right at home in there mate. Very nice to see indeed! Iif I recall correctly, you're using an internal pedal box, etc? Those lines would be a bit of a hint to the answer to that question.

Hey Gordo, yeah it fits in real nice. pedal box is inside, brakes are all hooked up in the photo above so no worries with the booster getting in the way. Steering isnt easy but is nearly sorted, had to put two universals and move the collum over to make room, you cant quite see it but there is one just out of the firewall and another off the top of the rack that gets it right out of the way. Exhaust is tight but will go through!!

Nice work man, did you just scrub the engine bay or give it a quick squirt of paint?
Love the Vauxhall plug cover too

looks lovely sitting in there, was it much trouble getting it in? dont they sit way behind the front cross member on a s2000 for 50:50 weight distribution were the engine mounts much trouble? did you have to make a custom sump? are you running a link computer? or just standard computer? sorry for all the questions but im pretty keen on your project =)

No worries, Engine went in without too much hassle. No mods have been done to the engine, did toy with the idea of making a new sump but it has a serious old pump and oil surge set up and didnt want to mess with it. You can get a duy sump kit that would have got it a bit lower and saved some work but not money!!! We just moved the cross member and the rack, take a close look at the pics with no engines in and you will see what i mean. Mounts were no problem to make, there is heaps of room. These engines from what i have been told dont like links, too much going on. I am running total std set up for a while but will go hondata and some aftermarket cams (once the bank balance recovers) but that is a fair amount of work to set that up.

Still been too busy to get up to Tonys and do much work but he has now pretty much sorted the wiring out. Driveshaft is now finished and had been balanced, new radiator has been built for it and the extractors are mostly done so with a bit of luck we will very shortly plug in the loom while it is outside the car and see if she starts before taping it all up and fitting inplace. Have ripped the dash out and am going to replace it with a folded ali custom made one.
