If you're wondering if you'll find the same rims as Brad, I don't think you will. I've never seen another set in NZ.

For centreless rims you are looking at around $300+ for the rims (7 inch is max in 13 or you can get 14x8) and then steelie gears will charge I guess around $100-200 to cut some centres out and weld them into the centreless rims. Thats the safe option lol. My ROH rimzeuses were 60 each at trade price i think, or maybe it was less, like 50 something i think. And yeah like 200 for the centres to be done etc

Looking good! If I knew you were going to be doing all that as part of the rebuild, I'd've suggested checking out my post on modifying the 1256. they respond VERY well to sensible headwork and some other, low cost, mod's. If you're feeling flush, and are getting tired of the locked diff', there's a company in the UK that has commisioned some new LSDs for the Chevette - TJ Motorsport , enter Chevette int othe search engine. Not all their products are listed so you can also contact them through a UK Chevette club, www.chevettes.com/forum/Oh, forgot - VERY IMPORTANT - did you use new collets/keeprs/valve reatiners? I've lost a couple of engines from re-using the stock ones - they're made of plasticine and can allow the valve to pull through if using heavier springs (even stock springs can be a problem) with resultant dropped valve to piston damage!

Cheers, thanks for the lsd idea.
Yeah, nothings been re-used really. A couple of the original collets had fractures in them, had aftermarket ones sent from the UK. 3/4 of the time was spent waiting on bits to turn up haha
The head was ported by the reconditoners own specs, ports are like twice the size haha,
Its amazing the difference it's all made. That will teach me for doubting a twelve fiddy six!
Are the piazza vented front rotors bolt on with the chevette calipers?

Fairly certain they larger diam than vette ones... can check if I remember 2moro when I commence Barn Clean up 2009... unless anyone knows off top of head... actually will compare calipers on black chevini with vette, black chevini has vented fronts only assuming they piazza... Jase/Mcqunt/Slidenyo would know, he probably put them on! Originally from his old wagon... be mean to see this, altho bulldog will have a fairly similar ride in Ak fairly soon no doubt... need T-car nats over summer!

Are the piazza vented front rotors bolt on with the chevette calipers? Good to know the bits are still available - what about the timing chain tensioner pad? The solid Isuzu discs may be a bolt on with a suitable adaptor for the caliper to clear it - I know the HS discs were of another model in the GM range and were 256mm diameter compared to the stock Chevette 246mm - sizes are approximate as not remembering well at this time of morning. The vented Piazza discs are too wide for the Chevette calipers and I believe the bearings are also different so the usual practice, if I recall it correctly, is to swap the whole stub assembly. I've a set in the garage to dispose of but think I offered them to C'Tim first.
