True $600 not bad. I think my warrent guy will let me through with my cut springs he's not picky he hates rust though lucky I got none.

Me and Zep are gunna get some custom springs made up by snells some time soon. Not really a fan of cutties, but we want a lower ride hight and need a pretty heavy set of springs. Loving the wheels to, sorta look like rs5's Matt

Cut springs are all good. As long as you get a shorter shock to keep them nice and captive. They cost nothing and you can't buy decent lowering springs. Making them would be cool but most people that I have spoken to refuse to lower it a decent amount and it costs the earth. The guy that I'll get to do my cert eventually, Neil Fraser of Fraser Cars in north shore said its fine for me to use cut springs, he actually prefers them to compressed ones.

We're more concerned with the spring rate, rather then the issue of being captive, which is easly solved. What we want are much heavier springs but with a similar height as cut springs. The standard springs arent that great in this respect. We've both got 15'' and want the rim just touching the lip, so its gota be low, and releitivly heavy. Ive had compressed rears in my coupe, they were shocking, worse then standard!

I only cut mine because I got keen in the holidays but in the end I like them. I used Commodore rear springs in the rear and I left it 25mm higher than the front so when I have the boys in there its level. My drive way is steap and it rubs like hell when I turn in and thats with 13"s

Mine did rub a little when i had it lower, but i run a different offset on the front wheels, less then the back so that helps a little. Can always give here a little lip/flare jobbie!
