well, my last thread has broke or something so heres a summary of my project so far..
I brought the car in september last year from Queenstown and towed it home to Ashburton. on the way down one of the heavy steel ramps fell off the trailer and skidded down the open road lol. this is how she looked once off the trailer..
set about work to on getting a wof, she needed:
exhaust leak fixed,
new handbrake cable, ($21NZD delivered, ebay.co.uk ftw)
exhaust bolted up,
spare wheel secured,
seized brake caliper fixed
leaky slave cylinder in rear drums, replaced brake pads front and rear while i was at it..
had trouble starting it so brought a new solarnoid and reconditioned the starter motor.
once i got the wof me and the old man set about taking her to bits for panel & paint, we decided on mercury silver but the paint rep actually buggered it up and its got a bit to much pearlescent in it, it glows purple from one side of the car and silver from the over.. so its color is surple
pulled a few dents out and the car had pretty much no rust what so ever,
painted the car and brought some new window rubbers from rare spears in aussie to suit gemini but they fit just fine, while the glass was out we tinted it 35%.
sprayed up the interior with vht black vinyl dye and brought new carpets, head unit and speakers, cut holes in the parcel tray to fit the speakers.
few other things we had to sort after paint,
starter motor kept jamming so brought a far better one off trademe which no longer jams up when i stall on busy roundabouts hahahah.
new fuel pump, old one leaked, carby also leaked onto exhaust manifold so a new gasket fixed that..
left my key on.. so new rotor & points n nuts,
I've got a disc brake diff out of a 2litre opel manta to put in at some point.
recently replaced the exhaust manifold because i blew a hole in the old one and my car sounded like a tractor haha
ordered a set of 15" koya ae tek wheels, 15x7 0 offset for the front and 15x8 0 offset for the rear,
heres how she looks on the back with 195/50's
tyre shop let me test fit a 2nd hand tire to get the right sizes, so brand new tires go on tomorrow(:
next step is to lower, and in the future maybe a g13b suzuki motor and 5speed instead of the heap thats in it now(:
ill chuck up a pic tomorrow with all the wheels & wrapped(:
