Thanks! Yes it was decided to bond the rear side glass in, was bonded when I bought the car so didn't have the little latches or leaver, has new seals and then glass has been bonded im still to go around and get a nice bead around the edges, has been masked up to do so if you can see that in the pics

Finally got a good look at the paint. Looks fantastic!
I like the look of the bonded in rear windows too. The latches aren't really very useful and can fail allowing the window to swing down the side of the car, which isn't something you want to happen with a brand new paint job.

Thanks man it's really coming together now, I just had the wheels powder coated again and the tires put back on, sounds like the car will be back home next weekend so will get the wheels on and get some photos up of it near complete.

You should take a look at the front hinges i got from reprotec in germany. they have a groove for the glass to sit in at the front, rather than allowing it to just be pressed against the rubber. I'll see if i can find a pic to show you what i mean, but basically instead of a retarded Z shape, they are an h shape

A bit expensive, since some other lucky person won the $20m in the lottery, but book marked for future reference. As I understand it, in the UK the opening rear windows were an optional extra and the standard one were fixed - is this correct, as I've never seen or heard of fixed ones down here?

I believe your correct Gordo, the base models would have had fixed rear side windows as did the base model Mk1 Cavalier Coupe / Sports hatch of the same era

Thanks for the links, glass was bonded in before photos were up I don't think they will be coming out anytime soon. They look quite pricey, I mean for someone restoring a chevette to factory they would be perfect. I don't think anyone will fit in the rear also

those are exactly the ones I got coggers, they were about $50 kiwi landed, not too bad I thought. you can just buy the rubbers seperately if you want though. Any idea where I can get the moulding clips from coggers?

Booked a car trailer for Friday evening so will have the car back home at last. Will get the wheels on the car and take a few shots with the fresh paint once cut/polished

yeah but I can only find the ones for the front trim. the ones they list as chevette clips don't appear to be the side ones. the ones I need have the little plastic pin that pushes into them to secure them. I only salvaged enough to do one door

Repco carry some clips in the little packs and most (auto) upholstery places have a wide range of clips, which may be suitable. Otherwise it may just be a case of checking out the UK and German sites for them.
