Yep a wee bit slow but ill know how for next time!
Right, so the black coupe is now road legal and running ok. Making a few funny noises and has that 'sitting for a few months' feel to it. Needs a bloody good tidy up, although no worse than the orange one when I got it. Thinking about doing another paint job, not a big fan of black will see what's underneath the black and then decide. Has the steelies on it, ditching the horrible alloys (anyone know a place that will do a good price on them for scrap?). Lowered all round and has relatively rust free boot! Needs a stereo though. Will put up some pictures as soon as I get them off my mates camera.
But I'm a bit short on cash so parting out the orange one, a sad day for me.. But possibly a good day for you if you need something! The only thing that is not for sale is the gearbox. Let me know, will put up a couple of pictures of it soon as well.

Check out my fire extinguisher In the last picture you can see the general crapness of the black gem. Hopefully will improve this weekend!

how did the gem wagon come out? reckon he owes you the wreck, smash your front onto his wagon and you will have an extremely rear (in NZ) vehicle!

The wagon is surprisingly good, just a Barry Whiteed grill and a bent bonnet. Looking a grill for him, so if anyone has one let me know. Right another picture of the orange car, and then this thread is now dedicated to my new black one instead!

Same grill as the one on cul8r's wagon. Right here is the slightly tidied black gem I'm starting to like black a little more now, need to raise the front a little bit more though. Might put the springs from the orange gem in the front, minus a couple of coils

haha no, I mean raise. taste is a funny thing and mine are maybe a bit whacked, but I don't think that everything should look like it should be followed by a shower of sparks, especially older cars. And if you tried driving around chch atm you might change your mind too

Does look like it's got a bit too much rake on it, a small lift will look good as it'd even out the ride height.

Bought myself a power polisher and then buffed my car up. Its almost shiny. Needs a bit more buffing though/new paint. Got a quote for a paint and panel - $1500, not too bad. Not sure what colour to paint it though, thinking maybe orange again. Did paint the vents and grill grey, think they look ok. Found some hubcaps in my pile of parts. Painted one black so need opinions on which colour looks better. I think I really just like the chrome trim so if anyone has/know where to get some chrome or stainless wheel bands (for around the edge of the wheel) please let me know! I have a spare engine now so I'm going to rebuild it, new carby, ported head, get the cam ground and maybe some other stuff. I have almost started on this! Did find a 4-2-1 cast iron exhaust manifold, I believe its from an early series Gemini, does anyone know more about this? Also still need to raise the front....
