For sale is my 1980 Vauxhall Chevette Estate. This car is running a 2 litre Opel twincam ecotec engine from a 1996 Holden Vectra. Behind it is a Getrag 5 speed manual gearbox. Induction is through 40mm quad throttle bodies and engine management is controlled by a Link G3. Diff is original. Brakes have been upgraded to vented Isuzu Piazza items in the front, while rear is original drums. Rear shocks have been uprighted and its currently running uprated springs with shorter shocks all around. I've thought long and hard about this sale, for most of this year and have finally decided that I want to go ahead with it, or at least test the water and see if there is any market for something like this. If you're not familiar with this car, please check out the build thread for details. It has not been built to the highest standard, but it has been built well in my opinion. It is currently in a state where it is not finished and as such, your own spin can be put on it. Price, with wof/reg/cert $9,500 on 13x8 inch widened steel wheels with Yokohama A539 175/50/13. These wheels will not be sold seperately.
Price, without wof/reg/cert (as is) $7,900 on 13x8 inch widened steel wheels with Yokohama A539 175/50/13. These wheels will not be sold seperately.
Price, rolling body alone (without engine/gearbox) $4,500 on 13x8 inch widened steel wheels with Yokohama A539 175/50/13. These wheels will not be sold seperately.
Price, conversion package alone (engine/gearbox/sump/mounts/driveshaft) $3,500 including loom/ecu $2,500 including loom only (no ecu)Give me a pm or a call on 021 232 1666 if you want to discuss the sale or any pricing options.

Think boe-rad would kick anyone who changed the front on this in the nuts!
Find one with a rough front and choppy chop! Shame you are so far away considering selling my project wagon, already chopped and have nose cut and mint bonnet for it. Wagon itself panelled and primed... will make a decision soonish anyway, transport to Invervegas would kill it for you tho!

Are sick of it or are you building something even cooler? Sick of it pretty much. I want a track car, and this thing isn't suitable.

fair enough. I recomend buy a forumla V/first. Can have a nice one with trailer for 10-15k and they're prob one of the cheapest race cars to maintain etc. Faster than you would think aswel or get a formula suzuki/hyabusa they can be had cheap as chips ex malaysia/japan/india or whatever

lol.
Nah, I just mean a car for the track, like trackdays etc that is cheap and that I don't mind if I break. Vectra is what I'm using, with a C20XE in it, built up like a BTCC super tourer.

haha, I've been watching that one. It popped up on trademe a little while back but someone complained about something and it dissapeared, I think he was asking AUS$ or something retarded.
Thats an ex south african touring car with no history, you can get a beaten up ex-BTCC car with awesome history and spares package for next to nothing. I would actually consider it because you'd never be able to build a car to that spec without a million dollars, but they are so on the limit they cost far too much to rebuild and maintain. New engine each race meeting etc.
I've heard there are 4 or so ex-BTCC or Super Touring cars in NZ and rumour is that at least 2 of them are trying to get into the SS2000 to run the cars. Would be so insanely awesome to see some of them at race pace in NZ.

haha yip. thats what i was geting at they are much cheaper to buy than build that car has history in ausi, i remember it racing(was yellow) yeh there are/have been a few in nz. Have seen an accord and a couple bmws in action over the years usual at rich man classic races / mini enduro type stuff. Oh and a corona/carina thing and i think theres a pug 405 around someplace (edit: google says: six BMW Supertourers in New Zealand, all based in the South Island. Two are former Diet Coke cars that ran in Australia, one is an ex Italian SuperTourismo car and the other is the 1992 BTCC winning car as driven by Tim Harvey )
