I have seen a few of the pictures before, so I'm assuiming zep has already stumbled across the site. click on 'fotos/pics' when you go in to the page. warning: this may take many hours of your time away from you! www.kadett.icsnetworks.at/

Yeah I'm deffinately doing it aye. Will probably be early next year but I'm going to be getting my engine bay ready now till the end of the year, with the engine still in there just doing a few things changing my brake master and remounting the radiator etc.
I've looked into the transplant hard out, so I'll do a write up a little bit later once I find out exactly what I think I will need to complete it. Hopefully I'll be right and it will go in easily, but chances are things will turn to sh*t as they usually do and I will have a car off the road for another few years haha.
At the moment It looks like the 4cyl VN commodore will be very handy to get parts off.

Haha crazy. I have found a gearbox and xmember for $100, and sump and engine mounts for $60 from wreckers so I'm stoked! I have also found a vectra! www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Car-parts-accessories/Holden/Other/auction-73592302.htm this one infact. Its ecotech (haha evo even) which is a little bit crap. They make less power and I'm not sure if they are as easy to install as the c20xe. Its abit confusing reading all the crap on the net. No one seems to have bothered putting an ecotech in ANYTHING, they always go for the older motors, but I can't buy one of them for less than 2 grand! 750 sounds awfull good and means I will have it running alot sooner. Zep, you don't happen to know anything about interchangablity between the two engines? I believe the ecotech is called a x20xe. edit: well atleast I know the ecotechs have endless potential! www.dragracingonline.com/features/ecotech_1.html

Yeah those twincam vectras go alright aye man. I've driven a couple at work. I drove a manual 3.2 V6 rodeo today. I reckon that would be a choice as engine for a chevette/gemini. Heaps better than one of those buick/holden V6 bumholes.

The Ecotech engines are OK aye. I have a few issues of Retro Cars with cars that have them transplanted into them. I thought they were pretty similar to the XE - they are both in the same cars, and they look the same haha. Can't believe you're doing this, sounds like it's gonna be awesome!

Yeah I know, its pretty cool aye. I've been searching for the engine that was 'perfect' for the car for a little while now. I liked the idea of a rotor for a while but I'm pretty much a piston man. Then we measured up a mates 2jz and it actually seemed to fit, but I've always like the idea of a 3s-ge and I luv the 4cyl induction note of those kadett c's that I have heaps of vids off. Never really knew what engine it was, but now I'm guessing it was an XE/ecotech so I'm fukn stoked that I have the chance to do something like that, all for less than 2 grand hopefully! Mate was helping me suss sh*t tonight and we accidently (literally) met reserve on these. Never thought you could get R1 carbs for $300! www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Motorbikes/Parts-accessories/Performance/auction-73052790.htmAnd the vectra engine looks like it is the exact right one, as the later models have a different sump that will not fit into a rwd application. He is an absolute good cu*t and wil pull it off TM for the reserve! ;D So stoked. Still going to be next year before I pull the vaux off the road again but I should have everything well sorted by then!
