Trying to think about how the colors should work on my car. It's going to be the original yellow. The rims are dark (eg charcoal eqsue with chrome rims). So this is what I've got in mind at the mo:
- Normal style: yellow with black around the top 1/2 of the doors and the rear 1/4 windows. Same as how it is now, check out my project thread.
- Same as above but paint the fuel flap thingys black too.
- fully yellow all over
or
- yellow with black fuel flaps. I saw a coupe on the net which was white with black flap, looked mean. I am steering towards this at the moment as I think it'll work nice with the rims and keep the window areas looking fresh.
What you guys think?

I've just looked at heaps of pictures of kadett c's and I know the rear vent/petrol flap thing is different on them, but you can still get a pretty good idea.
I would paint both the window surrounds and the flaps in a very dark charcole colour that matches the wheels. I think it will be better to carry the colour through rather than paint it dark black on the windows and have the wheels a slightly lighter colour.
To be honest alot of them did just paint the whole lot one colour and it looks fine, but the ones that reall stand out are the ones that have the windows accentuated with the darker colour or chrome surrounds.
Thats the other thing. I guess chrome stuff is impossible to get hold of, but it also looks quite good on cars that have a machined lip to have chrome around the windows and the rear vent/flap black.
Plus, I think you should go a slightly more lemony yellow. Make it a little more euro-ey.

Haha, I wanna keep the original Isuzu color. I'm all about the euro but gotta keep some jap roots going down here. Yeah, I kinda did mean charcoaly when I said black. So you rekcon do the window surrounds too. I'll find a pic of what I meant with no window surrounds but the flap black. Also, that chrome is impossible to get - no can do. It's a ZZ/R but you get the idea. I rekcon it works pretty well aye.

Yeah. I see your point it looks pretty good. I'm just looking at Kadett pics cause I can't be bothered tryna hunt round on ozgem thru the hundreds of hideous paint schemes for something cool. I like it with body colour around the windows, but painted black/dark around there looks better I think.

Far out that rallye one is awesome. Sould be the exact paint scheme you go for, except with yellow. I agree with mikuni i think i would look hot in a paler, creamier shade of yellow. Like the old mazda colour for r100's and rx2's etc

I think your car looks closer to the opel than it does to the zz/r tho. Just get some square lights and bonnet eybrows and you'll be away. Way tuff.
