d**n, my alternator decides to pack up right on the day people are coming to look at the gem! I couldn't suss what it was. It appears to be charging alright but the light keeps coming on. Runs like arse to because of the idle control and electric fuel pump aren't getting enough voltage.
If you hit the alternator with a hammer it comes right for about 2 minutes haha. Apparantly new alternator brushes are $15 so will go get some of those.

Haha yeah I did that when the fellas came round. Don't think they were impressed  Replaced the brushes just now tho. Resoldered in, now just got to put the alternator back together and put it in the car. All for the massive expenditure of $6.49 |

WEE the FLYYYEST GANNGSTAAAA yeah thats exactly what i thort haha Umm i haven't put the altanator back in yet. I'm pretty sure it will be sweet. Don't think any of these all talk gangstars of trademe are actually guna up front with some bling tho.. gantuuuhhh  |

So is it really that easy/cheap to change the buses? I thought it cost heaps so i just didn't fix it. haha

Same here I was at a party last night got slaughtered took some of those x pills dont usually but the bottle told me it was ok LoL. Cranked till like 4 then got told to go so walked home its only like 10mins so of we went then about 2mins in to the walk a R30 skyline pulls up and just starts doing skids random as he was a good thingy had his door open and crap. Also went for a good spin in an EVO6 I got shotgun that was awsome aswell my mates mrs was a blubering mess at like 8 she had the best night ever was so jelious she left the same time as me and she was still cranking. Got woken up at 7 for the keys for the TE so my mrs could go drop here mates off ect and get her car but I had mudded it I left the keys for the TE and my work truck in my mrs car I had to walk stuff it anyway I feel awsome I have allready washed the car and mown the lawns. I also had the same thing happen to my altinator I used to stop and bang it while I was driveing. Was a prick at night so I just got a secondhand one did'nt realise it was so cheap/easy to repair. |

I have no idea what I did wrong, but I can't put the alternator back together. It just won't turn. Ahwell.
I also have no idea how we have so many alternators but for some reason theres about 10 floating around of various description. I found one that has the same conectors and everything so I just used that. Had to grind abit off the mounting bracket but all fits sweet. So cars fixed now ;D
