Does look like COP bait doesn't it!
Hey - what is wrong with rotorising chevettes anyway? Its no different to putting any other engine in one is it? Excuse my ignorance as I've been away from NZ a while but is there some sort of split between rotary lovers and the rest?
My personal 'dislike' is big wheels on old cars- seems to be a very kiwi/aussie thing to do. Just looks so wrong - they end up looking all out of proportion.... but thats my opinion eh.
13/14" and no more I say.

Its a little bit of a cliche, the whole "put a rotor in it" thing. I guess it goes a long with modgies and eagers and to a certain degree, 17 inch wheels on old cars. People start to get a little bit tired of the same old thing and so called "hacking" cars up to put rotaries in them when there are plenty of other options available.
I don't think too many people around here are too worried about that car. We've seen it around for years and it seems as though the conversion was originally done several years ago. Seeing a 2 door sedan in a poor state probably hurts a little more but its looking a lot better this time around that it did last time I saw it for sale, so good effort with that.
Also, everyone has different tastes when it comes to cars, especially old cars. I'd never have any issue with putting a rotary in something providing it is not an imaculately original example of something hard to find. I would also either stay with an entirely original rotor or go all out with a race engine, pp and injection etc. To me a bridge pulse is kind of just for show these days, not really a performance oriented modification.
Thats all just my opinion anyway and hell, I hate pushrods and have jammed a gay modern plastic motor in an old chevette so why listen to me.

Meh my opinion is that if you buy something you should be able to do whatever the hell you like to it without getting all sorts of people upset and making silly comments... the old 'if you have nothing nice to say...' rule applies here... Of course seeing someone hack up a granny spec completely original car may hurt, if you wanna save it you should have bought it 1st~! Eventually I want to find a completely rust free garaged all its life granny hatch to butcher into a Chevini... will roll with my hacked rust repaired examples until funding allows it tho!
I quyite like the lok of 17s aye... I know most of you's don't, I wouldn't go any bigger tho... on the flip side I also like all the other rims most of you Mrs Funt'maRunts are rolling... the advantage of having several cars is I can produce several different styles anyway... (if I ever get them running hehehe)

17's look ok if the cars sacked with wheels up in the guards. depending on the wheel style of course. hate those chrome jobbies tho. anything with dish usually looks ok i reckon.

Yep -I must admit I too was a big wheel lad back in 1996 when i fit 15" tsw hockinhiems on my first chevette. they did look tasty but just too big and then the discs look tiny as well. But each to there own- some old cars do suit bigger wheels if they are the right sort. Definately as above chrome wheels look horrid on old cars! I like most engines- i'm not a rotorhead as such but rotarys are a nice simple clean easy way to a good car. I prefer NA though- turbos just start cluttering the bay up. I love redtops- but finding one... and I love the look of the crossflow in my Viva- pure oldschool look.

I'm all ok with up to 15"s in older cars, I think I'd even fit them to a newer car. In my case, my 15s only just fit over my brakes, so I'm glad

nothing wrong with chucking a rotor in a vette. imo cross breeding is wrong- but rotorys are an exception. i personally wouldnt be able to do it to a 2door. definatly a hatch
i laugh at the australians choping sedans to pieces and welding in wagon doors to make 2door sedos- the next chevini needs to be a 2doorsedo gemini =D chuck a 161 in it, gemini running gear. and watch the aussies drooool

Jute and Gaz are keen to change the front on theirs to a Gemini front. Makes it look a lot like an Opel Kadett.

I reckon chop doors out of wag put in sedo and put sedo doors in wag... 2 door sedo and 4 door wag for ultra weirdness...
