a few questions that have been rolling around in my mind for a while-
has anyone fit a pod filter to a chevette? if i made up an adaptor and pipeing i would need to get the carb re tuned because of more/less airflow yes? (i atmit i know sfa about carbs)
where would i get gas shocks for the hatch?
where would you recomend for window rubbers?
what sort of exhausts have been run on the standard 1.3? i was thinking extractors and a straight pipe out the center like you see on so many minis haha. maybe a muffler to keep the pigs happy.

I'm running mine without a filter at all, not recommended though but does make a difference. I would just run one without messing with the carb.
Any shock place will either have or make shocks for you.
Window rubbers I've been trying to track down myself....i think it's cheaper to simply take some of yours in to rubber places and buy lengths of it. Otherwise try gemini stuff
Places in UK do 1256 manifolds...i think janspeed do them. Again if you have the time and tools you could make one yourself. I was quoted about $1500 from pitstop to make them! My mate Tony can fabricate some if you're serious I could ask the question.
Ultimately it's not worth working the 1256 it's simply more cost effective to change it to something else that almost just fits in.

pod it is. that was easy.
shocks i will just take off and do some hunting.
rubbers- i was going to see what smith and smith can do for me but im guessing they will be rather expensive.
and im not looking at spending mega bucks on the 1.3, but if you can get power out ov a 1275 mini im sure you can get some out of this. ill likley chuck the g200 in a vette eventually. with some forced induction

just pop bungs back in... they rubber arnt they?@! Gem ones arent and suck balls.
I have a 1256 weber inlet mani gordo gave me when I bought his hatch all those years ago...
My zorst on the black chevini was off gordos doner car, just a couple of hotdog resonators, sounded way tougher than a 1256 shudv (with out more money poured in of course...)
Gas shox, gem wagon should be same item... that will open up more manufacturers Pedders, Munroe etc...
Which window rubbers do you speak of? If front or rear screen go for Smiff n Smiffs... seem to remember geminimad getting his front screen done for not too meke... check his project thread for estimate ballpark price...
Muffler out centre wont work best with diff and theres a recess on the underside of rear valance to take tail pipe/muffler... would look strange unless you plated over that, then youd get clearance issues with out the recess in centre if you wanted to lower it (like everyone on here seems to...) ;D

yeah i thought about the diff after i wrote it. maybe i could get it to split haha. just to be diferent. my zorst has 2 cobys welded in, i have an old reciept for "exhaust repairs" yeah bungs are rubber but theyre persihed and krap. plus some were a bit stuck so have screwdriver holes thru them from when i was popn them out haha. has all sorts of rubber gears (no not the kind 77vette wears!) um, i dont wana know what you 2 get upto aye. i dont have a problem with it but, you know, theres a time and a place for these things... ^^

Gemini shocks up front are fine but if I remember rightly the gemini and chevette wagons and sedans have uprights whereas hatch (assuming we're talking hatch) have diagonals....very different length

a few questions that have been rolling around in my mind for a while- has anyone fit a pod filter to a chevette? if i made up an adaptor and pipeing i would need to get the carb re tuned because of more/less airflow yes? (i atmit i know sfa about carbs) WHY, FFS? Clean stock one works well - however, what I did on the fast road Chevette was to remove the front part of the filter (that has the thermo state flap in it) and fabricated an adaptor to get cold air from the opening just to the right of the radiator. I wouldn't worry too much about changing the needle or spring as they're a right pain unless you know EXACTLY what you're trying to achieve - besides, the internal vent for the float chamber is just above the intake so reference pressure is the same.where would i get gas shocks for the hatch? Repco have them, as I said elsewhere, they've gone up a bit and would be around $350-400 for a set, depending on discounts. Rear hatch/wagon ones are different from the saloons.where would you recomend for window rubbers? I got some from the place on Lincoln road - rather pricey, though, and I wouldn't go back. Try some of the other suggestions.what sort of exhausts have been run on the standard 1.3? i was thinking extractors and a straight pipe out the center like you see on so many minis haha. maybe a muffler to keep the pigs happy. I had had a look at some of the genuine extractors and decided they weren't worth it. I matched the stock manifold to the ported exhaust outlets, cleaned the internals and matched the outlet to the ID of one size larger front pipes. The front pipes, being a size larger than stock, were made to follow the stock length and fit (this bit was a MEGA pain the the arse) into a 2" pipe that followed the stock path with a single chambered (large oval) muffler in the stock position - not sure about the current noise BS, though, as mine didn't sound too loud even though the muffler I got was one that you could see right through. Note, this was some years back when things were a lot simpler.
As I suggested, have you checked out my earlier posts here and at 'Chevettes.com', as I expect many of your questions may be answered there.

as for chevettes.com ive never even heard of it =s shall have a geez now cheers
and "WHY, FFS? Clean stock one works well" (air filter) same reason i ripd the heater out ov the gem. same reason i regret that weekend that time. because its fvckn ugly haha

Ah, the struts. There're places you can get then re-charged with gas - something I should check up on as I've eight or ten somewhere in the garage that could be done. There are two or three variations, so make sure any replacement fits correctly.
