What points gap are you using? If you don't have a figure, 20 thou is a good starting point. The other things to check are the condenser/capacitor, rotor, wiring (OC or SC), whether a ground wire is used between the plate and body and distributor shaft play, plugs - grade and gap, HT leads, correct type coil for the application, etc. Something that has caught people out is that sometimes an incorrect cap is fitted - everything seems OK but the electrodes are in the wrong place.
Oh, I presume you're timing it correctly?

Are you sure it's not a carbie problem? Where are you, if in Auckland may be able to call in and have a looksie.

What do the plugs look like? Is it deffinitely getting fuel as I have had some problems with injectors in the past. Not usually what you are describing I must say but perhaps just checking the plugs and swapping them around as a trial just to make sure. And yeah, check those plugs.

Perhaps mentioned above and something very simple but i've seen it, make sure you have the plug leads on the correct hole on disti cap. What is the firing order? 1342? etc. Call me a numpty but I've seen it.

wired the ecu properly? not missing a tach signal or anything silly like that?
I'm unsure if you can even run points with the stock ecu as it may need the original dizzies input to run the fuel side properly.
