Yeah well, i need shorter shocks for the rear of my chevette. Do any of you guys know if there are any shocks from other cars that will be suitable?(prefered option). Or do i have to shorten the ones i have?

At the moment i can remove the springs by wiggling them And i want the back to go lower than it is now. Not so keen on the drag racer look i've got going (fronts lower than the rear) ;D

Get some Tokico rear shocks for a Gemini. Theya re pretty cheap and will keep your nuts captive. I've had my gem pretty low and it's been all good.

Do chevettes have the same diff and mounts as a gemini? I'd agree with zep, his rears are good, could go for some monroes, thats what i have and she rides nice as.

Chevettes have exactly the same setup as Opel Kadetts, so i assume the Gemini is also the same. Thanks for your help guys.

Im pretty sure that kadetts have differnt diff's eh. The mounts are probably the same, just measure the width of the mount and get back to us, should be able to tell from that. It uses a pin-eye type shock doesnt it?

That is obviously not what any of us have, but it IS a chevette hatch setup, which is the same as a gemini wagon (i'm led to believe). It all looks the same. PLUS. when I was researching adjustable shocks, parts numbers for kadetts, chevettes and gems all came up the same.

Oh, thats the set up that i have, being a wagon. How does the sedan and coupe differ? Also zep, do you know the max length (at full stretch) of the rear tokico shock?

I don't have the length as they are in the car! But I was told they would be sweet for a lowered car when I bought them.
The only difference with the diff is the shock mounts, the sedan/coupe shocks mount directly up whereas the sedan/hatch ones are on the angle seen above.

Looking at that pic ims starting to beleve the shocks wont be the same as a gemini? Do the hatches have a different diff setup to the sedans?

I wouldn't think they would be any different. They all run the same setup, and re-engineering them for different markets would be silly. Its all the T platform.
