Fair enough. I reckon $500 is definite upper limit as far as old twincams are concerned so probably a good call there. I sold my one to gemini mad on here for that and it had everything so seems about right.

Having mixed thoughts, perhaps $500 is about the right price BUT, how much extra after that do you put on the chance of another one coming up complete and only 130,000ks. This one is complete with loom and ECU. The extra couple of hundy over the price of the sohc one is pretty cheap for an extra 15hp also. Plus a DOHC sounds so much better and looks way better in engine bay. How often do the G200w's pop up? Im going to need a new engine for that vette in at least the next 6months if not sooner.. likely?

Unlikely probably. They are getting harder to find but obviously if you are keeping your eye out for one you will find one sooner or later.
talk to cul8r because I think he was looking at getting a rusty gemini with one in it.

Sweet, am in discussion with Cult now about Gem. Also will keep an eye on that gem paddock car as it will have all the parts id need for conversion. Gem rad should be ok to cool the G200 I hope.

its a tight fit gazza/jute the engine mounts line up with a 10mm spacer under the mount or they just tear, gb is a mission and radiator is a mission i cut the radiator support in mine and ran a triumph radiator

for the size of the engine bay and the weight of a g200 i would look into possible alternatives closely before jumping too soon, 4age and w50 spring to mind as toyota gb's are stronger ca18det are also smaller and can be acquired cheaplyor even ca18de sr20de are also a nice light motor that will rev and out live any g200 12a or 13b are also compact and quite good when mildly tuned i was going datsun a15 before i g2'd mine and i kinda wish i had and not cut that car up

Whole point of G200 is the ease of it. I want a weekend or two conversion not one I have to piss around making mounts, cutting sumps etc etc. If I was going to do that Id drop my spare Ca in.

Nah didnt win auction. Im off to Chrchr tommorrow and will try and view. It sounds like it is sold tho. Have just bid on a 85 gem for $100 which is about 1hour drive away. Hopefully the engine and box in that are ok. Not as cool as the DOHC but better than nothing. Im getting sick of not having a car to use!

I reckon G161Z is a way better option just for getting the car going. G200W is more of a mean project conversion for something that you will drive once in a while. Perhaps a rebuilt G2W could be the next engine conversion down the track a bit because it will bolt straight in once you do the G161Z
