I've already got some. Have had them for several years as I was going to use them on my old matt black wagon but it never got sorted out. I have been thinking of using them but drilling holes in my guards will be difficult :S Black is a pretty good plan tho. I might dummy one up to see what It will look like. I wasn't going to go with flairs just because they would look stupid with 17's but now I guess it could work! ;D

'Off the chain' is a new one. I was just thinking. Black bumpers, black fender mirrors, black bolt ons with those honey comb wheels widened. Mmmm sounds hot. Will see, may have to add some chrome in there somewhere cause I have chrome around my windows.

How about instead of black stuff, you go for chrome bumpers and mirrors. Then rivet some ghetto steel flares onto the sides and add a front lip. Would be extra tuff.

Hahaha. Doing up a chevette to that style? Maybe . Next thing you'll be suggesting getting the flares chrome dipped! Fuk, I was ringing around trying to find someone down here who was keen to widen my wheels. Couldn't find anyone. They recommended two people, ones away till the 18th and the other semi-abused me and told me that its now illegal to weld steel wheels and it has been for years and you have to get them certified, which is almost impossible and blah blah. So yeah. Anyway thats all sh*t. Once they are welded up properly no one will even know. He reckoned that you can't weld the seam good enough tho, and that you need to use a tube. So he = gay. I hate trying to find people to do work for me in Hamilton!

That guy sounds like an idiot. When i was at arrow wheels just a little while ago they had this crazy as like 8-10 inch wide, 14-15 inch widened wheel siting on the floor. I asked the fula what it was for and he said they do alot of widening for the stock car boys. So maybe ask somebody involved in that nuts where they would get it done.

Yeah he's a little 'simple' I guess you could say. But he seems ok. $50 a wheel, and it beats going to auckland so I'm gunna send him some pics and see if he's keen to do them.

Well, since you crazy characters seem to think so similar to me, here is a plan I've got. I'm thinking black guards and black/chrome fender mirrors with chrome bumpers and window surrounds. And obligatory boso cooler out the front! I'm by NO means comparing my car to a kpgc10 but this is kinda the *style* that I was thinking. I'm glad you brought up the flares idea again too zep! I had completely forgotten I still had them lying around! MEAN!

Yup, that's pretty much how I'd do it Sounds like an awesome plan. So it'll look the business, but what are ya gonna do about that little donk now that it seems you're giving up on the G200W?

Unfortunately the little donk will be remaining in there for atleast a little while. It should still be relatively fun with good handling and stoping, regardless of the lack of power. I do have one very silly idea of engine that I'm working with at the moment. But I really don't want to waste the money that it will cost just yet.
I'm not sure about widening the wheels a full 2.5-3 inches. I think that may be a little much, as just 2 inches is all going to the dish/lip so thats a massive change in offset. If I need to move the centre out to compensate this then I will probably go wider. Mission to get tyres tho, because I want something small like 195x50x13 and not rude as eagers or anything like that.

Yeah man. 'Cause you get really sick of people laughing when they hear you own a gemini or worse still, are doing up a Chevette! I still laugh at it, but you do get sick of it..
I got it all put back together. I am worrying a little because I have just competely removed every peice including the brakes and put it all back together (with rebuilt once that haven't been tested yet) so I'm just hoping that all is well. It didn't drop to the ground or make any loud sounds so thats always a good sign.
But yeah, I started it up and wished very deeply that I had something other than the 1256 under the hood as it groaned into life!
A G series would be good, but if I'm going to change the motor I want it to be something that will never need changing again. I want something that has heaps of power. Something not very expensive. Parts have to be easy to get hold of (the main reason I don't want to both with a W). It needs to look good under the hood, which means I'd prefer a twincam as single cams just look poo's. No matter what you do to them in my opinion. I like technology when it comes to motors. And it has to sound great. There.. thats lots of reasons aye.. but for me that only leaves one real engine and its not the best suit and will still cost alot of money to get in there. Plus its large and weighs quite alot so I'm just looking into that to make sure it won't through the weight balance off too much.
Whats your car got under the hood again? Still g161 or 200?
