Chevy Chevette's are so cool, their fronts are awesome as. This Brazilian guy at my work had one in Brazil and he can't get enough of my car. But my boss who is a 40ish year old American woman thinks that my cars a joke. She reckons that in the States Chevettes are like the ultimate worst car that you can own. And that you get extreme dissrespect for driving one ;D probably doesn't help that i work for Ford tho ;D

Americans are so funny. Did they carry the chevette right thru to 1990?! I'm not into the chevy fronts aye. They are almost as ugly as vauxhall fronts! haha but no where near as cool! That one does look style on the white walls tho.

That one does look style on the white walls tho. Yeah but the front, trim, etc changed and it went way more ugly like the gemini did. In that Adam Sandler movie, the wedding singer, Drew Barrymore drives one i think.

Hey mate, that 80 ain't from US. Maybe Brazil, Argentina, or the UK? We only ever got hatchbacks (2 & 4 drs). Chevette in US = 1976 - 1987 4dr style was introduced in 78. Here's an 81 - imageigloo.com/images/225781 chevette.jpg[/img] Here's the first year 76 Full line (with WOODGRAIN!!!) - imageigloo.com/images/851476 chevette-all.jpg[/img]

Hey man, welcome to the forum! can remember where i got that pic but the site said it was a north american model...maybe Canadian? or else its a southamerican model because the chevy model with that front was only sold in the americas not the UK/NZ.

Could be Canadian, eh? I have an Isuzu I-mark which is basically a Gemini. They came standard with 1.8. It has TE style taillights but TF style grille. Right now I'm in the middle of painting it but here it is. I removed the side trim & filled the rivet holes. The bottom of the back door was not perfect but it's a daily. US req'd 5mph bumpers so the shock-looking bumper mounts. sl/x type wide window trim was std in US I think as I've never seen 1 without it but there aren't many.

TE bumper? I think that's the kind it has. We only got 1 kind here - big chrome thing that was off for painting in that picture. I'm in Florida not freezin' my but in Canada Color? Similar, so I didn't have to do jambs & such. Also to match the interior which is kinda lt green/grey It wound up being lighter than it was tho. It's called Smoke Grey & was cheap. $60 - $70 total cost Here's my paint story & some more pix (sorry, don't wanna type it up again) www.ozgemini.com/forums/non-tech/viewtopic.php?t=15373So Wadya think ?
