mine currently has the front bare and the rest still yellow. but thats because i ran out of grinder wheel =s it takes frikn ages! how can something with such a thick paintjob still rust so much =p

wire wheel bro, troy did a whole commie the other week amazing nuts reshelled a V* with terminal rust, chopped whole thing up if you need anything kept all the good bits and would do you a good deal.
Anyway he bare metaled the mintest shell I have ever seen, painty was a new home job and quite good too.. no rust. No lies no rust was mint. Anyway he put whole driveline into the shell and its off being painted.

Looks pretty mean Tim but I think it needs more black and bare metal. Holynuts yea chevettes have so many layers of paint!

best tip ive heard for rusting is coke =) pour some coke on the metal and itl be nicely rusted the next morning i need to get another wire wheel to get mine finished i ran out of wire haha www.youtube.com/user/pimppalacecustoms?feature=mhum#p/u/26/2PwYTQM80BYcheck this thread out- the paint hes used on his wheels is something ill look into, im wanting to paint my rustyles with it. Yea that's that 'faux rust' paint i mentioned before that is metal infused. Need two different types of paint for it to work and and to get a litre of each its about $200. I asked that guy a while back then inquired at the place he got it from. Think it was $211 for 1l of both paints...Not the cheapest. |

not too bad you can pay $130 for 1ltr of some normal car paints.
when i do get a hatch i wont be able to actually rust the bonnet (rally scrutineers wont like that)

got green gem wag and chevini booked in for zorsts on thursday. ordered satin blk rattle cans to do chevini today, dropped gem wag tank into troy to mod for vectra in tank pump for blue wagon, modded wheel locking on green wag and refitted 17s, new pair ordered to replace damaged tyre (grrr scrapey scraper on brake bracket) and still heading down to shed to bolt back seat and seat belts into blue chevette wagon and a few little things... all going well looking at them both ready for WOF or compliance by the end of the week... apparently theres some track day next weekend, using this info as motivation.

record day for me, 4 cars worked on in one day! chevini and green gem out for zorsts, blue wagon out getting tank done and red wagon reassembled due not having green wagon for work. Failed a bit when we ran out of gas for welder, will have to pull tank out again!

what a Mrs Funt'maRunty day... went to get chevini and green gem from zorst shop... made it approx 10km and snapped stub axle on trailer. but being that I am mutha fukn Macguyver I offloaded Chevini and managed to drive a 1 wheeled trailer 2km to my cousins house... my mate who was following in green wag joked about going to McD's and stealing 20 or 30 trays, this got me thinking so I managed to steal 3x plastic bread loaf trays from behind the local dairy and dragged it on those... each one lasted about 600m or so... then towed Chevini up there then finally made it home around 8pm, first got stranded around 5pm... meh! Glad no one collected trailer wheel thru their windscreen and super glad Chevini didnt get messed up.... trailer will need some surgury but she'll be sweet... wish I had hired one now instead of using cousins dodgy P.O.S!!! Will be hiring one in morn to collect Chevini now anyway...
