^ Thats what I will be using but the 2.0L version because I'll be using a block from the earlier vectra so that it all fits. I've only driven one vectra and I couldn't thrash it because box was blown, but I have heard good things. I drove an Opel Kadett E back in the day with a 1.9L single cam and single point injection. It was a seriously quick car. We pulled 200 in it several times (on a closed road, in controlled conditions obviously ;D).
Thanks for that info gordo. Is there anything there on the variations of pistons between the models?? I'll be using the older single cam engine as mentioned above, which doesn't use that silly oil pump in the sump. I know I'll run into other problems with this plan but it seems to be the straight forward option at this point.

Yeah, its awesome aye. I like this forum indeed.
My car made it to wellington and back, just. 16 hours there, 10 back. Fitting head and got tyres on with enough clearance to drive. Left at 1:30am after a night of working on the car. Had to jack it up 6 times on the way down to change things and raise it a little. Exhaust fell off due to lowerage. Drove from taupo to palmy with nothing becuase taupo wouldn't fix it for me.
Mega
You Mrs Funt'maRunts should have come. I was expectin you tom!

Haha, so it was lower than in the pics in Welly!! How did you just raise it on the side of the road?
Might need to get a new exhaust too! - Also, can you guys let the oldschool people know that I'm not sure what's wrong with the forum at the mo, just got to work and it was like that. Wont be able to look into it until I'm home.

Haha, so it was lower than in the pics in Welly!! How did you just raise it on the side of the road? Yeah, before we left I got some spring insulators from geminimad. We put the bottom one in before we left and then put the other one in on the way down. I didn't use both initially because if it goes too high the shocks will be at their limit but it worked fine. It was around an inch and a half lower at the rear.

Yeah it handles pretty well - alot better than on 17's. Small wheels are better in every way (except maybe underbody height). It skips around a bit at the rear, I think because of the fact its so low - I've heard the torque tube being on such a big angle isn't ideal.
My handbrake cable is abit fuked now too, because of the exhaust situation. We were wondering if it was possible to use a cable like a throttle one that goes ot the back, so you can just run it with the brake lines etc.
The trip down wellies was a fukn mission aye. It is a very long way to go for the weekend. It took us about 8 hours to come back and we were going non stop pretty much.
Anyway, very big news. I just got back from the tuners after booking my car in for march the 23rd. At this stage they will be combining the various engine and gearbox bits and dummy fitting the engine. Mounts will be made and then we will look at other things if money allows.
Extremely excited about it all, now I've just got to track down all the parts over the next month or so and we're away.
