I'm trying one of those toyo proxes fz4 215/50R13 that you suggested. They are pretty old style but that is my only option. Yoko do an eager look-a-like with white writing but I'm not into that and literally the only other tyre that will stretch to an 8 inch rim is the dunlop, that has a 1-3month wait. Its the way the wheels were widened. The beads of the welds don't allow the tyre to squeeze over them. I'm pretty sure it will work somehow, I just need to convince the tyre shop c*nts to put their back in to it. Fuk, they're getting $680 out of 4 13" tyres. Surely thats reason enough. BF Goodrich used to do a 235/50-13 tyre - could be worth checking out. Be about perfect for a 8" rim. BTW, inserts used to be fitted to the well of the wheel, any reason yours wasn't?

Perhaps the tyre places I went to didn't deal with BF Goodrich. I'm quite sure Pirelli (sp) do some 13's that might be suitable aswell. I have since had a mate of mine from tyrepower up in whangarei stretch some 155/70/13s (hahaha) on there and they went on alright, but looked like shi. They do abit of the stuff for the drift fellas so hes pretty good at putting anything on anything and seems to think I will be able to get a 185/60/13 Bridgestone on there sweet so hopefully that will look alright. And as far as the way the wheel was widened; we just didn't know what we were doing. It was done by an engineer who had never done it before because no one in Hamilton was willing to do it anymore because they think its illegal. I've learnt alot about the dynamics of fitting tyres to wheels over the past few weeks and I can certainly say theres alot more to it than I thought.

Check out where your local stock car guys get their wheels done. IIRC, at one stage you were looking for some Rostyle wheels - if you're interested, I've a set of five, with tyres that're open to reasonable offers. I lived in Whangarei for a while, was in the Northland Car Club with a stock and later mildly modified blue hatch. You, or your friend, may remember it if you were around ten years back.

Nah, wasn't around 10 years back. I would have been 12 and hadn't realised the ultimate awesomeness of the chevette at that stage.
Yeah, my wheels have been widened already so no use really. If doing it again I would probably just do 14's and get centreless rims.
77vette is the fella who is after those rostyles and he lives in Auckland, so I'm sure he will be interested in them when he gets back from not being here.

Hey everyone, im back from not being here! good to see that you made it to the forum gordo!(im sexychevette by the way). Not so sure about those rostyles anymore. Im prob gona go for some 14's. CAM of oldschool is supposed to be sorting some centerless rims out for me or somenuts. If that falls through i may be keen on your rostyles. Had a good newyears, up north was fun. Everyone, check out my project thread. Got tyres on so I wrote a massive speel and sh*t. Pretty stoked.
And burntrubber, if your around I gave a mate from whangas this website addy because he's putting a G200W Turbo engine into his gemmy and is looking for a diff. I told him you didn't really have time to make any at the moment but that you might be keen at some stage? He'll probably be in touch at some stage anyway.

Been checking up on the BFGs, they don't seem to be making them any more For something a bit different, I've also got a set of four 6.5x15 multispoke Hartge wheels for a 3 series BMW that'll fit a Chevette but the offset is slightly too much for my application - may need a slight rework of the arches for clearance if it's slammed. That's with 215/50 tyres, I think - next size down'd be fine.

215 on a 6.5? That sounds abit big. I think if you stretched something onto them they would clear the guards. My rims are 8's and they seem to sit under there fine.
They sound interesting though, can you find any pics??
