I'm looking for a few bits and pieces to add to my chevette hatch. - Dash bits: glove compartment, centre bit with heater controls, ashtray etc, plastic grill (with GL on it) and 2 vent covers beside it.
- hood lining
- front window stuff for both sides. basically my windows are currently just bits of glass held up by wedges, don't have any rubber bits, handles to wind them up, internal cog thingees and cables.
- front door interior handles
- rear seat release latches
- ignition (the part to put the key in)
- front bumper and mounts
- windscreen wipers
If anyone has any of these things or knows where I could get them let me know.

jeeze I probably have some of that stuff lying around aye. would probably be better for you to just find a parts car at a wreckers and raid it. spencer off OS is always telling me of chevettes he comes across in thames and random places like that so they are out there.
I think I may know of a good guard to it you need one of those. its blue though.

Yeah, parts car at a wreckers would be all good, just a matter of tracking one down that isn't too far from Auckland
Might be in touch about that guard if I decide fixing my current one isn't worth the hassle, being blue isn't a worry as I'll have to paint whatever guard I end up using

Tim, that old green hatch I sold you had a mint driver's regulator - put in a couple of weeks before it was parked up. Left was also pretty good.

well I took Mikuni's advice and got a parts car, has all the stuff my other one was missing so between the two will be able to form one complete car, yay.
so now instead of being a WTB thread, this is now a "I have excess parts if anyone needs any" thread, esp engine bits cos I have 3 engines...

Can I have the rubber boot that goes around the shifter? I can pick it up this weekend ;D
I really want one for the drive down to taupo because it gets sooooo hot with engine temp air coming in through it and the t-shirt that I'm currently using around town blows away at speed.

I know one of them is rooted, has a really bad knock.
One is 77vette's old engine which I haven't had in the car so his guess as to how well it goes would be better than mine...
The other is the one I think I'll use, since it's in the car already and sounded ok when I briefly ran it the other day. Plan is to have a play with things this weekend, then I'll know more.

Ah cool, well if 77vette's is good enough I'd be keen, but just depends if it's any better than what's currently in mine...

If its only smokey I wouldn't really bother swapping aye. They are real easy to put together, if anything I'd PM roots or avenger79 on oldschool and ask if you can have his spare head, my old one. Its mint rebuilt, done only a trip to welly's and a couple to whangarei since a freshen up. Smack some new rings in and you'd have a mint engine that you know is mint.
Failing that, just let it be smokey and put more effort into getting that 4age sorted. PS I've been in a 4age starlet recently and it was real fun and sounded awesome but it made me super happy I put and Opel engine in mine.

Ah the spare head could be cool, it's pretty much valve guides that's the problem from what I can see, although it's tricky to be sure as I struggle following myself around to see if there's smoke coming out of it while I'm driving.... ;D ...and yeah I know your XEV is a far better engine than the 4AGE, but I have to take the easy option here as I'm finding it difficult to pull finger on this as it is... (hence why I think it's better just to get it back on the road for now).
