Looking for some good condition Chevette chrome bumpers to fit the Gem. I hope they do. Going for the Opel Kadett look.

Theres a whole chevette for sale down the road for like $200 I think could have a talk to him if you want also I bought some piazza brakes off a guy on trademe who had a chevette aswell I could email him and see if he still has it.

The chevette down the road is a bit banged up so the bumpers are no good he wants alot more than I thought also. Other guy has'nt got back to me yet.

Well, I always thought they were the same as the kadett bumpers, so if they are, yeah, I'd love some. But if not, then probably would like to see what they look like eh.

I think they are the same as the kadetts. And i actually think your car would suit them and mine would suit the bigger square ones! Yours are in good condition ay? My full chevette bumpers are up in whangarei so i can't get them for a little bit but i'm quite sure they are in good nick. I just hate the round look of them on the wagons ay. ew. hah

Yeah, they're in pretty good nick, few small bumps but nothing huge. Was going to get them straightened up at some time, but cost/benefit at the mo not worth it.
Let me know when you have the bumpers and we'll have a test fit!

Theres a guy in the trade and exchange selling a Chevette with a blown engine for $300. Says that it has a good body and standard mags ( rostyles? ). Also the car is in Glen eden.

Might be worth looking at, for those bumpers?

Zep, I was just wondering if the mounting points at the back of your car are the same as my wagons? I got a pic here of my gem with no bumper which is the same as the chevette but its dark as and kinda hard to see. Just 4 bolt holes, 2 on the back about 500mils apart and one on either side of the car. You think they guna fit?  |

i got my bumpers and they are pretty sh*t. they are straight but got surface rust on them. average. how much does it cost to get them rechromed?
