AFAIK, Nz didnt get the 78-79 Gemini Wagon's or Panelvans. We did get the TE,TF,TG Wagons & Vans though..
You'd be better off swapping a early front onto a Late Model Wagon. But that would involve more work than you think, have to take the support panels etc etc to get everything to fit nicely..
We did however get the Chevette Wagon's from early on..
Cheers,Chris

there are early wagons here... my mate frm welly reckons he seen em dwn there... not many tho. the only 1 i hav eva seen was @ pick a part in mangere but that was a few years ago... if u change the front it may work easier on a chvette wagon jus get a closer look 1st. im puttn a later gem front on a chevette and its a lil hard...jus maori it!

I'm sure that isuzu never sold the wagons here untill the newer shape, like my Gemini wagon. Holden sold many wagons, as mentioned above but by that time they were all post TE also.
Either way, if you do keep looking out for one I don't think you'll ever find one. I've been looking for about 4 years and still haven't come upon one, so your best bet would certainly be to make one from a chevette wagon or later model gemini, as afew people on here (including myself) have planned to do. It involves grinding, welding and all that fun stuff as you need to use the early model valance and rad support, but from what I can see, it won't be too involved. The hardest part will be finding rust free front guards, a good condition valance and any other parts you may need.
Good luck man.
ps, please please please, if you do build one DO NOT turn it into a panel van. Obviously my opinion doesn't matter but I strongly despise those things. Wagons for ever lol

True, they could have been brought across from aus as holdens by private importers or possible even isuzus from japan. They didn't really import to much obsure 70's cars from japan in later years though. Not sure why. Those were the best years.

Oh gutted man. I should have said something but I guessed you had seen it. You could try get in contact with the guy because he said he only wanted it for the tags, so you might be able to get the body off him.
Just type chevette or chevanne in the search and they will all come up. That way you won't miss any that are in different sections. Same goes with geminis because people put them under Isuzu and Holden, and some of those rotor bastards seem to think that putting a rotary in something makes it a mazda, so just type gemini in general search and they all should come up. Make sure you click tm motors though, otherwise you get boats, vacuum cleaners, starsign bracelets etc haha
