Haha, I think its the fact that theres another person there to encourage you to do something. Everytime I try doing work by myself I loose inspiration and do something else. Anyway, burntrubber, question for you. Do you think you'd be able to put a sway bar on to you're diff if you wanted to? I'm just thinking of doing something similar and I hear that the rear sway bars tighten up the handling of the whole car heaps, so I'd be keen to try to put one on if possible (Diff such as borg warner, hilux etc - not standard gemi).

Yeah you can put a sway bar on it as long as theres nothing in the way ect finding a bar that will clear on a diff conversion is the problem I'm haveing with mine. I have'nt looked into that hard I think a whiteline gemini one will fit for me just have'nt got round to sorting it out

I stripped all the panels and interior today was quite an effort. I was very happy to find that the computer is wired up completely seperate to the rest of the loom. So its just a matter of pulling the computer out and putting it into the Gemini. ;D

Mint, sounds good. I don't think i've heard of anyone using a stock efi g200 in a gem. I hear there are problems using the stock 4zc1-t computer, but this might just work all good.

Oh true well I guess I will find out cant see why not but I know almost nothing when it comes to EFI computers. I could ask on Ozgem but they might give me crap

If its anything like the g200w the computer is stand alone. But the loom (which is about 3kgs and about 5metres long) contains afew other vital things to run the engine. can't remember what they are but they are needed unless you pay an auto elec to chop it down. I had a mate get an auto elec to do this in whangarei and he spent $400, but because you can't get a wiring diagram for one they couldn't get it running. Different story for the sohc tho. Wiring diagrams are readily available so shouldn't be too much hassle I wouldn't think.

Ok well I traced the whole computer wireing and there are a few other things like coasting inricher which comes from the gearbox and other things like rev stabiliser thingy for the aircon and power steering. When I pull the engine ect next weekend I will be removing everything from the shell because I can get $30 for it as long as its bare. So I will have all of the original loom and any other little bits I may need to get it running. I was wondering if I could turbo useing the standard ecu meh doubt it just a thought would be awsome if I could

So far I have converted one who I shall be helping unfortunatly its a Honda I will have to find out if I can turbo using that ECU would be quite a we machine I think ;D

Just been ripping all the wiring apart the ECU had one plug which joined into the rest of the loom inside the engine bay. The plug has the charge relay and coil relay linked to it the other thing was it had the main power from the key. Which is strange because the ECU sits right beside the key under the dash yet the wiring goes all the way into the engine bay then back to the ECU. I'm 100% sure now that I will be able to make it run in a Gemini.
