No they dont run real hot, but you do need to get them up to temp properly.
The nikki I had a play with in the 323 wagon a workmate had for awhile was pretty simple. Set the timing roughly by ear, then wound the mixture screws, and idle screws till it was happy. After that it made it a damn sight easier to start too

All mocked up and most things in place, played around wht the rad and the oil cooler to fit a thermo fan in but looks like I've gotta mount the cooler forward about 40 to 50 mills. All in all looks mighty fine. Got a new dissy cap and roter but roter was the wrong one Attachments:

Got sum 20mm freeze plugs to block off the intake manifold on the engine, don't know if it's a common thing to do as cant get ahold of those special O-rings, also while carb is out will give it a tidy up. Summer drags has got me motivated )$

Looking good caine. You going to sort that trans tunnel out any time soon? She'll twist like a pregnant dog without a solid floor

Yea what I was thinking would be the easiest way and most cost effective would be to graft another car tunnels on to it been getting quotes of up to 900 to do it Barry Whitein dramas I tell you haha, if anyone's keen to do it let me know. But most Likley won't be getting done until I can get some more hours from wrk

I wouldn't bother grafting another cars tunnel on. Just bend up some panel steel and strengthen it at the firewall a bit.
