You need a 150 CD Stromberg or, as we were talking off the other day, a 175 CD Stromberg. If you can pick up a 150' from another vehicle, they were fitted to a lot of british cars, you can swap over your needle (attached to the piston), spring and maybe float needle valve. It may even be better in some ways, as you may be able to get rid of the damned hot idle conpensator - it's the long thing screwed to the side of the carbie. If you want, and can't find, a bellmouth for it, I noticed Jenvey (www.jenvey.co.uk) have some 40mm ones that should be fairly easily adapted but I still think the better (cheaper) option may be one for the 1 1/2" SU.
OH, if you haven't already done so, I'd strongly recommend you pick up a Chevette manual - preferably a later one as it has some additional info' for the later engines, transmission, etc.
