Well I'm trying to find tyres and am having some trouble. I want Dunlop SP 9000 195/45/13's but they will take 1-3months to come into the country if I can get them at all. I noticed zeps made buddies with a tyre dude and a few of you seem to have hookups so I was wondering if you might be able to ask around for something that will fit my 8's? I was something with a lip protector and low profile so that it will stretch nicely and I think 195 will be the narrowest I can go to get them to fit the 8's. Anyway, any help would be wicked and things. Dunlop SP 9000

Hey man, I don't think I can get another deal aye, was kind of a one off thing I think.
Are there no other tyres that you want?

Oh sweet as.
Yeah, I would be keen on anything around that size, but I'm pretty sure no one else does them. So anyone know anyone that might be able to get something similar??

I gota mate who works for firestone and we use a few different tyre shops at work. Can prob sort something out. I was talkn to my budy at firestone about what tyres to put onto 13x8's. He was thinking 165or175/60's !! haha so yeah thats what im gona go for if i ever get round to widening my wheels. I called arrow wheels and the fula there reckons not many places do it any more, but he gave ma a number of this guy out south who does it so yeah might get that done soon/never cos im extra retarded edit: im thinking you can probably go narrower then 195's. You would just need thicker sidewalls? idono...all i know is the fula at firestone has this 17x7.5 rim and hes got a 165/45/17 on it!!!! crazy nuts. Just recently we got him to put some 175/60's onto a 13x7 and that wasn't to hard, and it looks like it would squeeze onto an 13x8

WHat?!? I've never even heard of anything like 165/45/17 those must have been hard to find. Yeap I'm 100% keen on that. I'll even make a special trip up to auckland to sort them out because I'd rather have someone who wants to stretch them than try to convince someone around here to do it.
I don't want side wall flex because it looks abit stink when they are stretched, so that was why I wanted a low profile, but that fella would know a lot more about it than me so I'm open to suggestions.

haha yeah im not that keen on the uberstretch either. I think your tyres will be 10x better then stetched as skinny ones. Im just keen on these tyres cos they're a nutsload cheaper. Hes into stetching tho! haha he imported those 17's from japan, i think to put onto his ke36 they look Barry Whiteed up tho, so much rim sticking out

Oh yeah, thats sh*t! Perhaps he doesn't know so much then. You need to get something with a decent sized lip protector otherwise you can see the lip sticking right out and it looks nuts as. You see it heaps on the drift cars because they just use whatever they can find at the time as they chew threw them so fast. My tyres seem to last forever though so I might aswell do it right, if I can ever find them. I might be keen just to get some little nuts 175/60/13's or something for now so I can atleast get the wheels on for summer and then get those other 3 month bastards on order.

Yeah ive asked around and it pretty much seems those dunlops are the only things available. Can get em for like 150 a tyre and like you said, its abit of a wait. 6 weeks to 3 months! they only make them to order, so once they get enough orders they will cook up a batch and send em out. This guy at frank allens is gona seach around for an alternative tyre, but hes not to hopeful. So far none of the guys i've talked to , have even seen tyres like these The guys at firestone think your possible alternatives are something like a 185/60 or you can get some 215/50's. Can get some nice toyo directionals in 215/50, and some yokohamas with white writing on them ;D They arn't so sure about streaching some extra thin tyres, because they reckon the lip on your wheels will make it hard. Also apparently the small tyres dont have very flexable sidewalls. But yeah, you never know

Awesome thanks for that. Bit of a bugger though. I don't wanna buy those dunlops for $600, wait 3 months and then have them not even fit and be unable to sell them again! Those 215/50 toyos sound alright, but I'm deffinately not guna get any eager look-a-like yokos. I would have thought the stretch would be fine, thats a pitty.

Stretching may work. Its just hes not that keen on ordering in a bunch of funny sized tyres, to test them all, and then not be able so get rid of them. We got a good deal on some 175/60's for my mates tyres because they had been sitting in the shop for like 2 years.

Yeah for sure, I wouldn't expect him to foot the bill on trialing tires.
I just had a look at the toyo website and the FZ4 looks like it should work. Its 215/50/13 and they say it will suit a rim size of 5.5 - 8.5 inches. Crazy aye. I'll ask around tomorrow if anyone can get hold of them. I have already been to the toyo shops. They are the places that sell dunlops and the bumholes ALL told me that toyo doesn't do anything in 13". Perhaps they are the same deal as the dunlops, being hard to get hold of but atleast they could have a look for them and tell me.

Yeah i had to force people to talk to me as well ::)haha
'Fran the rotor man' at firestone reckons that those toyo's are the perfect fit for a 7(straight up and down) so the side walls will be slightly bent in, on an 8.
