Which 5spd did you get, in regards to remote shifter location, theres a few types. I have two.. Make sure you get a alignment now you've replaced the bushes/balljoints, will save your tyres, Should only take 20min absolute tops if they know what they're doing, shame you're up there otherwise I'd do it..

cheers for that cul8er. yep joined the twincam site a while ago before i bought the engine just to get an idea of what id need and whats available etc. would you say 1-150 total cost of manifold? looking at a pair of carbs on tardme at the moment for 400 bucks-ish. for that price i could just buy a mega squirt without all the hassle of having a manifold made im thinking.
as for the remote shifter not sure. i have two but they both look the same and still deciding if im gonna use it or not. did yours line up ok?
wheel alignments are a rip off lol. i just do it myself
any progress on your car btw? what type manifold are you having made? i know the factory 911/bellet ones they made were 2 piece and quite short. im sure something like that would be fairly easy/inexpensive to make up eh.

just buy a mega squirt without all the hassle of having a manifold made im thinking. . yes but then you will have the hassle of assembling the megasquirt and then working out how to tune it crabs = easy easy = good. bike carbs i think manifold will be easier for bike carbs

Webers are easier to get parts for than solexs.. My inlet manifolds are being chromed at the moment. Pulley being machined to accept gilmer pully.
Biggest thing I noticed if you were going to go with twin sidedraughts is you either need a extremely short manifold/s, or shaped more like a S so that it steps up to clear your booster/resivour..
Thus why I've gone with twin downdraughts
Bike Carbs would be easiest to have a manifold made up, soft rubber mount them, with round runners welded onto some flanges that've been properly cut... Other way would be to cut original alloy manifold flanges off and have alloy runner's tig'd (cheaper option again)

I used to have twin 45s on a 2tg in the race car and there was no room at all for a booster, the manifold on that was only a couple of inches thick too. I would have thought that bike carbs would have been too small?

dont plan on using a booster at this stage. have a set of piazza turbo vented front discs and calipers to fit so should be plenty of stopping power there. not a race car just a cruiser
